This strategy identifies bearish stocks where short-term upside attempts fail quickly, supported by rising volume and price below key moving averages for quick short-selling opportunities.
Strategy Description -
- Latest 5-minute high is above the previous (P-1) 5-minute high, indicating a rise before the price moves down.
- Latest 5-minute close is below the previous (P-1) 5-minute high, showing quick rejection and selling interest.
- Latest 1-minute close is below the latest 1-minute open, confirming bearish momentum on the lower timeframe.
- Latest tick volume is higher than the previous (P-1) tick volume, indicating rising participation.
- Current tick volume is greater than the 20-tick average volume, confirming strong activity during the move.
- Close price is below the 9-period EMA on the 1-minute tick, supporting short-term bearish momentum.
- Close price is below the 20-period SMA on the 5-minute tick, confirming intraday downtrend pressure.
- Timeframe: Works best on 1-minute and 5-minute ticks for intraday scalping.
- Ideal Market Sessions: Most effective during 9:20–11:00 AM and 1:45–3:00 PM.
- Avoid Sudden Spikes: If there’s a huge price move in the last two to four ticks, stay cautious as volatility may fade quickly.
- Volume Confirmation: Monitor volume closely - Momentum is trustworthy when supported by good volume.
